Financial Freedom Is Not About Getting Rich

No matter how much money you make, financial freedom may still elude you!

You MUST understand that getting rich is not the same as achieving financial freedom. True freedom implies living debt free and organizing your money so that you don’t face any hassles while paying off your debt.

What prompted me to start searching for financial freedom is the realization that I was getting further into debt day by day. That’s when I decided to go to a financial freedom conference. Apart from the usual talk about savings and debt management, it was the points they told about budgeting and financial freedom that changed my perception of wealth forever.

A lot of people think that ‘budget’ is a dirty word that applies to those who do not have much money. It also makes people feel restricted in their spending. If you ask me, that’s a myth and nothing else!

If you plan it carefully, a budget will lead you to your ultimate goal of financial freedom. I have adopted this in my daily life and now experience a wonderful sense of freedom. It’s about being comfortable while spending, knowing that the amount you will spend is already set aside.

Look at the money you have spent over the past year and make an estimate as to how much money you spend in each area of your life. Then look at your income and get an idea of how much money you will need to put aside for each category. The trick is to keep tracking where your money goes and comes from.

FIRST, make a list of all items where you will probably spend money. Once you have listed all your expected expenses into one or the other categories, figure out how much money you need to put aside for each expense item.

It may take some time to outline such a budget and implement it. Don’t forget that it is a means to achieve financial freedom. That makes it necessary that you STICK to your budget or spending plan!

Don’t expect to do it perfectly in the first time. Be ready to make adjustments as time goes on for unforeseen changes and expansion needs of your business. After all, your financial freedom is as far or near to you as is the strength of your financial management.

The concept may sound really simple but it can be a lot of work. Don’t get disappointed if you don’t see the money rolling in straight away. Keep working on your goals and soon you will have total control over your money and attain what is called true financial freedom.
